Professional Ethics and Values For Teachers in Higher Education

About this event

Teaching makes moral demands on the teacher, specifically evident in teachers’ relationships with several stakeholders (Sockett, 1993). A Professional Code of Ethics for Teachers in Higher Education provides a framework for fulfilling one’s obligations and responsibilities towards students, colleagues, the community, and the Institute itself. Professional Ethics provides teachers with a set of principles that help maintain professional integrity, strive to enhance the dignity of the profession, and take suitable measures to curb professional misconduct.

Participants will obtain knowledge of the principles related to professional ethics as guidelines for conduct and engage in dialogue on reflections on challenges to the application of ethical principles concerning various stakeholders.
