Ethics of Records Management for Higher Education Institutions

About this event

"The ISO 15489-1: 2001 standard defines records management as the "field of management responsible for the efficient and systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use and disposition of records, including the processes for capturing and maintaining evidence of and information about business activities and transactions in the form of records". The purpose of records management is part of an organization's broader function of governance, risk management, and compliance and is primarily concerned with managing the evidence of an organization's activities as well as the reduction or mitigation of risk associated with it."

This webinar will focus on the role of stakeholders in the records management continuum in higher education and related institutions towards fostering ethical considerations in their records management practices and ultimately, for the greater societal good.

Under the theme of Ethics of Records Management for Higher Education Institutions, this webinar organised by Globethics.net Ghana seeks to:

  • Provide an overview of the basic principles and practices of records management
  • Explore the ethical dimensions of records management
  • Enhance the contribution of records managers/management systems to the overall objectives of higher education institutions
