Building bridges for inclusion, equity and diversity in higher education

Join on these three days of a vibrant and inspiring collaboration journey.

This first part will offer a full introduction to the theme and working methods of the conference process. We will introduce and frame the challenge and present the conference process theme and the relevance of ethics in higher education. Three thematic impulse presentations will serve as discussion starters.

Learning for the future - Leaving no one behind!

Until 2030 more than a billion young people will enter the labour force. Educators have the pedagogical task to prepare them for their roles in professional fields, and most importantly, for being tomorrow's change-makers and bridge-builders.

We are joining the call of the the Digital Education Hackathon initiative (DigiEduHack) and creating a challange. Team up and participate in the Globethics.net DigiEduHack 2021! Create solutions for ethics-based higher education models that can build bridges for inclusion, equity and diversity.

Thematic impulse presentations: Inclusion, equity and diversity

We want to explore how emerging generations can be equipped meaningfully through higher education for the transformation of our communities in more peaceful, inclusive, equitable and diverse spaces of cohabitation. Three thematic inputs from theory and praxis of higher education will guide our common reflection around inclusion, equity and diversity.

This workshop is a space for exchanging on experiences and working together on solutions for the hackathon challenge: "Learning for Future - Leaving No One Behind: Which models and practices of higher education based on ethics can build bridges across gaps in view of empowering marginalized groups, providing access to education infrastructures and resources, or leveraging technology meaningfully for inclusive, equitable and diverse learning that will shape tomorrow's world?" The objective of the workshop is to provide concrete solutions, publishable in a praxis-oriented Digital Learning for Future Toolbox and Manual, on one of the aspects of the challenge posed: a. Ethics in Higher Education and Inclusion, b. Ethics in Higher Education and Equity, and c. Ethics in Higher Education and Diversity.

Expected learning outcomes are knowledge in the central fields of inclusion, equity and diversity as embedded in educational praxis models, competences in analysing ethial challenges in the higher education sector and skills in co-creating solutions to practice oriented chanllenges related to the conference theme.
