Ethics and Democracy

About this event

How solid are our democracies? Recently, hate speech, conspiracy theories and fake news on the one hand, and cancel culture or call-out culture, on the other hand, they have taken centre stage in the public debate. The webinar endeavours to shed light on this controversy by convening a conversation around ethical perspectives and criteria that could assist in addressing these challenges.

Our speakers will address the following questions:

  • Reading the signs of the time: What observations can we share on the state of democracy today and how can we respond?
  • How can democracy be strengthened? Global responsibility and sustainable civil society action
  • I have a Dream–Which values for democratic societies today and tomorrow?
