Nurturing Emerging Scholars’ Ethical Thought-Leadership: Globethics Launches its First Doctoral School 2024 in Yogyakarta
The next generation of ethical leaders leads the way! From 29 July to 11 August 2024, Globethics, in partnership with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, will organise its first Doctoral School for PhD candidates from around the world.
Under the title Inclusive Peace and Responsible Governance, 20 doctoral candidates in their early research phase will be selected by an international scientific committee to take part in a peer-to-peer programme accompanied by leading academic teachers with expertise in the thematic area. The host university and Globethics partner, Universitas Gadjah Mada, will provide the propitious context for scholarly interactions and encounters in the inspiring and diverse context of Indonesia.
The Globethics Doctoral School is planned as a biennial event, starting in 2024, with rotating host institutions and the intention to invite emerging scholars from various disciplines to contribute to thought-leadership in ethics and to enrich the organisation’s global engagement around its strategic thematic priorities.
Participants’ own case studies related to the Doctoral School’s topic will form the foundation for the academic exchanges in study groups, punctuated by lectures and local exposure visits. The online application process, with comprehensive information on the application and selection process, will be launched on 5 February 2024 on the Globethics website.
