Library news
The connection between sustainable production and consumption patterns, care for the environment, wealth distribution, responsible governance, and societal participation is intricate and interdependent.
Understanding these connections is crucial for achieving a more sustainable and equitable world. This is a driver behind Globethics Academy’s new World Class on Sustainability Ethics and this month's featured collections in the Globethics Library:
Ethics and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
This thematic collection offers a single place to access various resources around ethics and the SDGs, aiming at better preserving this world from degradation. The collection is divided into 17 categories, representing the 17 UN SDGs, to facilitate targeted research around your topic(s) of interest.
Found under Ethics Collections >> Ethics and Sustainable Development Goals Collection, the Collection also highlights related Globethics Publications, journals, and links to other other resources including Credo Reference titles. For the latter, you must log in to your Globethics account for access.
Religion and Sustainable Development
The Globethics Library's Religion and Sustainable Development collection aims at furthering awareness and understanding of the (positive) role faith and religious traditions and their respective communities, organizations and actors play in working towards a sustainable development, envisioned by the SDGs.
The collection focuses on the main issues put forward by the latter, such as climate change, human rights, gender, health care, education, youth employment, peace, food and water. It also supports the mission of Partnership for Religions and Development (PaRD), initiated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and key governmental and multilateral development partners, of which Globethics is a member.
Find the resources under Theology and Ecumenism >> Religion and Development >>Religion and Sustainable Development.
